The Bosque County Commissioners Court tabled a request for a tax abatement and reinvestment zone for a battery storage system during its regular meeting on Monday, April 22, at the Bosque County Courthouse in Meridian. At a public hearing, representatives from Navitas Energy answered questions about their proposed battery energy storage system (BESS) following concerns about the project by residents.

The Meridian Public Library’s annual Jewels and Jeans Fundraiser raised over $10,000 on Saturday night, April 20, at the Meridian Civic Center. The guests enjoyed a catered dinner with a Hawaiian theme before bidding on live auction items and stretch raffles donated by generous members of the community.

The Meridian Economic Development Corporation’s Board of Directors examined its current financial position in preparation for building its budget during its regular meeting on Thursday, April 18. The board also received input on the MEDC’s online presence, including creating direct links to the website and possibly updating the city’s site for easier navigation.
