Wreaths Across America (WAA) in collaboration with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project (VHP) is launching of a new, free webinar series for educators. These four-part quarterly webinars aim to equip educators and youth of all ages with the vast resources available from the Library of Congress and will focus on how teachers and students can participate in collecting, preserving, and sharing veterans’ stories critical to our nation’s history and the teaching of the next generation about the value of freedom.

The Meridian Parks & Recreation group is seeking musicians and vendors for its event on the weekend of the total solar eclipse in April 2024. The group is expecting thousands of people to view the eclipse in Bosque County.

The Meridian Mobile Food Pantry is seeking volunteers to assist with its monthly food distributions within the city limits. Jennifer Lumpkins, local mobile food pantry’s head coordinator, said having an additional 10 people work for an hour a month would be of great benefit to the pantry’s clients.

The BAC Art Council recently announced that Martin Grelle will serve as judge for the 39th Annual Bosque Art Classic. Grelle, a Bosque County native, has been a member of the Cowboy Artists of America since 1995.

Eight students from Clifton High School medaled at the Texas High School Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) on Saturday, February 17. The CHS team went up against 21 Districts and over 1000 entries at this year’s event held in Harker Heights.

The Clifton Civic Improvement Society is offering one (1) $2,000 scholarship for continuing education. The deadline for requesting an application is Wednesday, April 17, 2024, and deadline for submission is Friday, April 19, 2024.
