Clifton resident quilter Debbie Stubbs presented Quilts of Valor to her largest group yet, awarding quilts to 14 local veterans, and a Quilt of Comfort to a veteran’s wife at the Church of Christ in Clifton on February 23.

Community gathers to remember Eliza Catchings

On Fri. February 25th Superintendent Kim Edwards opened the Meridian High School gym to hundreds of families, students, staff members and the community to pay their final respects to Eliza Christine Catchings, who passed away on Feb. 17, 2022.

Golden Gatherers celebrate 2-22-22

Despite the cold weather blowing in, they had about 20 people in attendance all seemingly laughing and having a great time. Everyone enjoyed Subway provided by the City of Meridian as well as home cooked treats brought in by those who attended.

Bosque County arrests and inmate transfers

-Terry Don Lindan II, of Franklin, was arrested by Clifton PD Barron on Feb. 18, 2022, for the possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 200 grams or more but less than 400 grams, and tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair investigation.

Senior Services hot meals to return to Meridian at FUMC

After the global COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020 Senior Services and Meals on Wheels were forced to shut the doors on their beloved hot cooked meals programs. Senior Services partnered with Trio Meals to ensure meals were delivered to senior citizens during the pandemic. Trio Meals cook fresh meals in the morning and volunteers would deliver them to seniors at their homes.

Spitzers honored at 52nd annual Chamber Banquet

It was boots, business and a lot of fun at the 52nd annual Clifton Chamber of Commerce Banquet at the Texas Safari Western Town and Saloon where two couples were honored for their hard work and dedication to make Clifton a better place to work, shop and live.

Dinosaur Day at Clifton Elementary School

It was an evening of Jurassic proportions when the Clifton Elementary School gym was transformed into a dinosaur museum for the elementary open house and pre-k and kindergarten roundup last week. Dinosaur George Blasing is a self-taught paleontologist and animal behaviorist with more than 40 years of study and research.
