Labor Day Weekend, 2002, Gary Bergman talked by phone with Jose Cano, Wildlife Biologist, Texas Parks & Wildlife, about the possibility of forming a wildlife management area. Due to Cano’s busy schedule, nothing could be done until March of 2003 when he met with Gary Bergman, Clint Bergman, Milt Bergman and Chris Bergman to discuss the idea and the ups and downs of forming a wildlife management cooperative.

County holds public hearing regarding solar plants

T h e controversy over the solar farms built in Bosque County has been an issue for years and Langer Solar, LLC is closing in on over 1,800 acres located off Hwy. 22 and C.R. 1070, which could be the second largest solar farm in Texas.

Vanlandingham visits Rotary

Bosque County Judge Cindy Vanlandingham was a guest of the Bosque Rotary Club last Thursday where she spoke about her enthusiasm to serve Bosque County and its residents. After moving her family to Bosque County in 1993, Vanlandingham began working at Kopperl ISD, first as a substitute teacher then as part of a program for student mothers.

Cleanup at Clifton City Park

If you’ve been to the Clifton City Park, you might have noticed structures need light repair and graffiti has polluted the area. Recently the old VFW slab was torn down, frisbee golf has been added and soon new basketball goals and lighting will be installed at the old tennis courts.

No burn ban for Bosque

Bosque County commissioners met in regular session Monday morning where they approved to pay claims, salaries and wages against county and precinct funds. Bosque County EMC and Fire Marshal Kirk Turner updated commissioners on the status of COVID-19 in the county, saying cases have continued to decline.
