Williams resigns from Meridian PD

At the recommendation of Meridian Chief of Police Blake Johnson, the City of Meridian accepted Sgt. Kyle Williams’ resignation of his duties as a police officer in Meridian Monday evening, effective immediately.

In Monday’s commissioners court meeting, Sheriff Trace Hendricks gave a jail status update, stating that as of Monday there were 54 inmates in custody, with 46 inmates being male and eight being female. 10 inmates were from Hamilton County and 12 were from Coryell County.

-Ronald Dwight Johnson, of Valley Mills, was arrested by BCSO on Sept. 3, 2021, for the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon; possession of marijuana less than two ounces; possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 one gram or more but less than four grams; and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Stubbs gifts Quilts of Valor to deserving vets

Debbie Stubbs, who has been a Clifton resident for over 30 years, honored Daniel Del Bosque, or Little Daniel to his family, with a Quilt of Valor for his service during the war in Iraq. Stubbs works with Quilts of Valor, who makes quilts for military veterans who have served the country.

Ticket sales begin for TBT “Doublewide” comedy

Tickets go on sale starting Sunday, Sept. 19, for all performances of Honky Tonk Hissy Fit, the third installment in the popular Doublewide, Texas stage series by playwrights Jones, Hope, and Wooten. A talented cast of popular stage veterans and newcomers will bring the hilarious trailer park gang back to the Bosque Arts Center in this rollicking sequel which runs for four performances in October.
