Mustang Valley Water Supply wins top award

A little gem of a company was started in the hills of Mustang Valley back in 1975, just a short distance from town. It was started to solve a problem, a big problem born of adversity. And it was solved by the strong work ethic, ingenuity and gumption of H.C. and Ruth Tucker, John Hastings, Jr., William Hanson, Roland Millsap and Lonnie Tergerson.

Bosque County arrest and jail status report

As of Monday, May 10, 52 inmates were housed in Bosque County. 34 are from Bosque County and 18 are housed from other counties. For the month of April, the county billed out $35,985 for out of county inmate housing.

The following list of indictments was handed down to Bosque County District Clerk, Juanita Miller, on May 7, 2021. -Ashley Morgan Stegal, 31, of Clifton, was indicted for the possession of a controlled substance less than one gram, state jail felony, enhanced state jail felony.

David Conrad, past Commander of Post 8553

David Conrad is the youngest of four brothers who served in the military, two in WWII and one in Korea. Conrad is also a WWII veteran after serving in Allied-occupied Germany for about 19 months after the war. He entered into the war as a private and came out as an SP3 and has served as Commander of VFW Post #8553 from 2008 to 2017.

Meridian City Council approves ordinances

Under old business the Meridian City Council discussed several ordinances, including the Firearms Ordinance, the sale and consumption of alcohol in public parks and the ordinance referring to the keeping of animals that have bitten someone or that show a dangerous propensity.

Sworn into service

Members of the Meridian City Council were sworn into office after votes were canvassed from the May 1, 2021 general election. Mayor Johnnie Hauerland and councilmembers Ryan Nieuwenhuis and Meghann Gieseke kept their seats and swore to dutifully serve the City of Meridian. Texas Cowboy Artist Martin Grelle honored by Texas Legislature

On May 5 the Texas Senate recognized the contributions of Texas native and lifelong resident Martin Grelle for his contributions to the arts in Texas over his distinguished career. In a resolution authored by Sens. Bryan Hughes and Brian Birdwell, the Texas Senate honored the work and career of Martin Grelle for its contribution to capturing the beauty and majesty of the great state of Texas and for seeking to preserve a moment in time of the state’s history through his work as a “cowboy artist.”

Bateson qualifies for State in essay contest
