-Sabrina Rainbolt, of Evant, was arrested on March 19 on an out of county warrant for forgery, an out of county warrant for the possession of a controlled substance more than 200 grams but less than 400 grams, an out of county warrant for resisting arrest, search or transport, an out of county warrant for the abandonment or endangerment of a child with criminal negligence, an out of county warrant for the possession of a controlled substance less than one gram and an out of county warrant for the assault of a peace officer or judge authority district court.

MVFD adds Brush 206 to fleet

Meridian Volunteer Fire Department recently added a new brush truck to their fleet. The 2020 F-750 Brush 206 was acquired through a 90/10 grant with the Texas A&M Forest Service.

Brooks takes the title

Riley Brooks of Meridian won the title of National Elite Mini Miss Lone Star State on Sunday, March 14th. The pageant was held in Houston at the Westin Memorial.

Texas Hospital Association honors Willmann

The Texas Hospital Association awarded its Pioneer Award to Adam Willmann, FACHE, CEO of Goodall Witcher Healthcare in Clifton. The Texas Hospital Association’s Pioneer Award is given to a CEO/administrator of a rural hospital or health care system who demonstrates creative and innovative management achievements and leadership within the organization and the community.

Bosque County Indictments

The following list of Grand Jury indictments was handed down to Bosque County District Clerk Juanita Miller on March 22, 2021: -Adrian Ivan Sarinana, 21, of Clifton, was indicted for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, third degree felony. -Brandon Glenn Scott, 47, of Valley Mills, was indicted for the possession of a controlled substance less than one gram, state jail felony.

Lutheran Sunset Ministries recently opened visitation up to everyone, a change from their previous policy that only allowed two essential caregivers to visit residents. Visitation is still by appointment only and those who would like to schedule a visit can call 254-675-8637 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m.

COVID-19 update

During Monday’s Bosque County Commissioners Court meeting, Bosque County Emergency Management Coordinator Chris Anderson said the county was seeing a benchmark low on new cases of COVID-19. “For the last two weeks recovered cases have outpaced the new,” said Anderson.

Clifton Public Library reaches 1,000 DVDs

The Nellie Pederson Civic Library in Clifton announced it now has 1,000 titles in its DVD collection for folks to check out for free. Donated by a local booster club, the 1,000th film was written by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and Cranfills Gapborn Taylor Sheridan.
