The Quilt Guild at the Bosque Arts Center has sew much fun that they will leave you in stitches. The guild counted 20 members in its current ranks who are now looking for more folks interested in joining them.

BAC high school art show attracts 115 entries

Tyler’s ‘A Golden Outlook’ painting wins ‘Best in Show’ The Bosque Arts Center’s 21st Annual High School Art Show attracted 115 entries from student-artists across six area school districts. BAC board member John Linn said that the number of entries was up by 45 from last year’s show.

The Meridian Independent School District’s Band Department held its spring band concert on Thursday, February 22, in the Meridian High School Gymnasium. The theme of the concert was appreciation for military veterans and public-school teachers.

Meridian ISD to close campuses for total solar eclipse

Meridian Independent School District will be closed on Monday, April 8, for the total solar eclipse. This district-wide closure was announced during the first “Digital Dialogue” hosted by Meridian ISD Superintendent Dana Davis on Thursday, February 29.

Expecting the eclipse

On Thursday, March 7, at 6 p.m., the City of Meridian will host a townhall meeting at the Meridian Civic Center regarding preparations for the upcoming solar eclipse in April. The public is invited to attend the meeting which will include times, schedules, events, preparations, plans, and what to expect.
