Commissoners take action on technology and enviornmental issues

The Bosque County Commissioners Court was back at full strength Monday morning with the return of Judge Don Poole, who had been vacationing. There were several projects discussed at the meeting, two of which will either lower county expenses or generate more property tax revenue for the county and Clifton ISD.

Clifton man arrested in sting

Kevin Dewayne Williams, of Clifton, was arrested on September 10 at a business in Gatesville where he had asked to meet a 16-year-old girl for sex, according to The Waco Tribune Herald. The 33-year-old man was arrested after undercover Woodway Department of Public Safety officers posing as a teenager agreed to meet him for sex, authorities said.

Judge Poole declares Constitution Week

Bosque County Judge Don Poole signed a proclamation recognizing September 17 through 23 as Constitution Week in Bosque County. Constitution Day is observed on September 17 each year to commemorate the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America on September 17, 1787.

Prayer March slated in Meridian

The community is invited to participate in Prayer March 2020 on September 26 at 11 a.m. The march will gather at the Bosque County Courthouse where they will pray, then walk around the downtown area, stopping several times to pray for our nation, its leaders, and the community.

COVID-19 Update

There was a small increase of active Covid-19 cases and one death reported from the various schools, hospitals and Bosque County in the recent reporting period. Bosque County has tested 2,755, with 263 positive tests, 203 recoveries, 60 active and 6 fatalities, up from 5 fatalities last week.

Andrew Pritchett indicted for murde

Andrew Conor Pritchett, 28, of Clifton, was indicted for first degree murder on September 04. Pritchett was arrested in June after a physical altercation left a man dead at a local residence.
