Raymond William “Bill” Ingram at the age of 77, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2022. The family will hold a Celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022 at his residence, 719 S. Ave G Clifton, TX 76634. After the Celebration of Life, the family welcomes you to stay and visit, come and go from 12-4 p.m. Please feel free to bring a dish of your choice. Please RSVP to Patricia Estep at 916-7055767.

James Dudley Mooney, Sr.

James Dudley Mooney, Sr. passed away peacefully on October 1, 2022. James was born in Clifton on January 1, 1940, where his exploits amongst the Biffle and Mooney clans began. Clifton remained homebase while growing up until graduation from Clifton High School in 1957. After a short stint at Texas A&M, he attended Tarleton College where he fell in love with Joy Lynn Cornell. The two married on June 2, 1962, and spent almost 60 years together.

Mary Lanelle Waddill Taylor

Mary Lanelle Waddill Taylor, of Clifton, passed away on October 4, 2022. She was born on November 6, 1934, in Louisville, KY, to Hubert Peyton Waddill and Mary Ethel Barnett Waddill. Lanelle’s father was a Presbyterian minister and the family lived in Wortham, Garland, Jacksonville and San Antonio during her childhood. She had three brothers she adored and admired, Edward, Douglas and Steven. Many of Lanelle’s earliest and happiest memories were the many holidays, summer vacations and other family occasions she spent on the farm near Valley Mills homesteaded in 1857 by Dr. A.M. Barnett and belonging to her grandparents Prentice Hall Barnett and Nellie Lane Barnett. Lanelle especially loved camping with her family beginning around 1938 under the oak trees at “Waddle Inn” on Hog Creek which adjoined the Barnett farm.

Peggy Perez, age 63, of Clifton, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, in Waco. Graveside services were held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Restland Cemetery, with Minister Deral McWhorter officiating.

Gonzalo O. Martinez, Jr.

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Gonzalo O. Martinez, Jr., beloved father, husband, son, brother, and friend on September 9, 2022. Gonzalo went home to be with God surrounded by his family and friends at 37 years old. He was the beloved husband of Karla Hernandez and dedicated father to two loving daughters who will miss him dearly, Natalia, age 9, and Anna, age 8.

Kenneth Gene Nelson

Kenneth Gene Nelson passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, at the age of 84. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Church of Christ, Clifton. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment followed the service at Clifton Memorial Park. Kenneth Gene was born on October 27, 1937, in Waco to Archie and Emma Mae Nelson. He was raised in Clifton and attended Clifton schools. He also attended Trinity Lutheran Church in his early years.

Gene Carroll Aars

Gene Carroll Aars, 85, of Clifton passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment followed the service at Norse Cemetery.

Leon Ervin Burreson

Leon Ervin Burreson, 81, passed away on September 4, 2022, at home in hospice care from a cancerous tumor in his brain. He was born in Cranfills Gap on May 17, 1941, to Lora Mae Samuelson Burreson and Ervin Austin Burreson. He went to school in Cranfills Gap and graduated in 1959. In high school he played football for the Cranfills Gap Lions for several years.
