Diane Fulp Poston Foss age 82 of Clifton, peacefully left for her new home in Heaven on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at a Ft. Worth Hospital. Visitation was held on Friday from 9:00 am to 12 Noon at the Valley Mills Church of Christ. State mandated social distancing will be practiced at this event and masks are required.

Private graveside service will be held later. Although Diane wanted to have a Celebration of Life Service at the Church, the family knew their mother, having been a nurse for years, would not want to put anyone’s health in danger.

Memorials may be made to the Valley Mills Church of Christ.

Diane was born in McLennan County at Ocee, Texas, on January 10, 1938 to E.C. and Geraldine Holder Johnson Fulp. Due to situations during WW II, she was raised by her grandparents, but her mother and step-father, George L. Pack, always resided on the same property.

She began school at North Waco Elementary, then in high school attended Mosheim High School where she played basketball.

Diane married Walter L. Poston, Sr., January 30, 1954. They resided near Mosheim on the Poston Farm and Ranch as caretakers. After a couple of years Walter and Diane bought an adjoining 160 acres where they and their first 4 children lived until 1966 when they purchased a farm just south of Clifton and their fifth child was born.

They were married 23 years until his death in a truck accident near Post, Texas on March 29, 1977.

Diane married Weldon L. Foss on June 28, 1980 and they resided on that same property near Clifton with his son and daughter joining them for a short time.

Diane’s nursing career began as a Nurse Aide at Lutheran Sunset Home. In 1968 Diane received her LVN from Goodall-Witcher LVN School and her RN from MCC in 1977. She also taught at HILL COLLEGE School of Nursing and retired from her nursing career in 2010 after more than 40 years.

She was employed at Meridian Hospital, Goodall-Witcher Hospital near downtown Clifton and then later when it moved to its present location; Lutheran Sunset Home, Valley Mills Nursing Home, TDCJ in Gatesville, DePaul Psychiatric in Waco, and the VA Hospital in Waco, working in as many as three at one time after she was widowed.

She did whatever was necessary to care for her patients, her family and her church.

She became a Christian in baptism in 1962 and followed her Lord’s example of faithfully caring for His creation.

She was not only exceptionally gifted at caring for mothers and babies, but an excellent nurse in ER and ICU as well.

Her children always came first and she taught them to love and serve God above all.

She served as 4-H Leader, Sunday School Teacher, VBS Teacher and in many other positions in her community.

Throughout her life she raised Chihuahuas, Siamese cats, horses, birds, deer, racoons, lambs, pigs, etc, nursing them to health or rescuing them.

Diane’s generosity and hospitality revealed the nurturing servant of the Lord that she was.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband Walter L. Poston, Sr., her step-brothers Monroe Pack and Jerry Pack.

Diane is survived by her husband Weldon Foss, and children Brenda (Tom) Cosper, Walter (Beth) Poston, Jr., Linda (Terry) Moore, Kenneth (Renee) Poston, Cindy (Brian) Harris, Brian Foss (Julie Sanchez), Jana Foss (David) Bacon and grandchildren Tiffeny Cosper (Joseph) Howe, Apryl Cosper (Russell) Henrichs, Caleb Mack (Ana) Cosper, Andrew (Laura) Cosper, Lindsey Brooke Poston (Tyler) Beatty, Bret Alan (Katie Jung) Poston, Matt (Amy) Powell, Kimberly Powell, Amy (Amanda Cusson) Powell, Lindsey (Alexandra) Moore, Dustin (Kaitlyn) Moore, Travis (Sonia) Poston, Logan (Carli) Poston, Laramie Poston, Elizabeth Harris (Coleman) Vick, Katelyn Harris (Andrew) Dennis, Jessica Harris (Dillon Garner), Sydney Harris, Jason Foss, Kaitlyn Foss, Jocelyn Hernandez, Alyssa Hernandez, Sarah Hernandez, and several great-grandchildren, Robert Reich special long-time friend, as well as brothersand sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
