Ronald Penn of Clifton, Texas passed away at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. To honor his life, family and friends gathered at Davis Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood, Texas on Saturday, July 11, 2020, for a light lunch and family visitation. Graveside services followed at Cox Cemetery in Elm Grove, Texas with Pat Richardson officiating.

Ronald was born November 12, 1943 to Chester and Arlie Penn in Brownwood, Texas. He attended and graduated from Rochelle High School. Ronald married his soulmate, Jackie Traweek Penn, on May 24, 1961 and they shared the next 59 years together. Ronald worked in retail in management and ownership positions for 25 years and spent the last 28 years of his career as an agent for Texas Farm Bureau in Clifton, Texas.

Ronald was a friend to all who knew him. He loved hunting, fishing and playing 42 with his church family at Valley Mills Church of Christ. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father and Pawpaw but above all, Ronald was a devoted Christian who lived his faith daily by example. In the words of his own grandson just after his death, Kyle wrote… “Pawpaw, I’ve never known someone who lived their life with the kind of faith you had. You never had any doubts about where you were going when your time finally came. You’re a great, kind and gentle man and I love you Pawpaw.” Ronald, Daddy, Pawpaw and our loving friend…we are heartbroken to lose you and will miss you every single day until we see you again.

Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother and great grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie, his children: Brett of Plano, Brandon of Clifton, Ronda Harth (Danny) of Brownwood. His is also survived by his 3 grandsons: Kyle Harth of Brownwood, Tyler Harth (Charla) of Zephyr and Jason Harth (Bonnie) of San Angelo. Ronald was also the proud Pawpaw of 5 great grandchildren.
