Bosque County 4-H and Youth Development's 22nd annual Lucky Clover Golf Tournament got a bit of a twist this year.

The four-man scramble event was played from Sept. 8-28, at the Bosque Valley Golf Course. Each team played seperately, following a specific schedule during the tourney. Event organizers said the change was made to stay compliant with the state's mandate on large gatherings, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. After playing, each team presented their score cards to the local AgriLife Extension office, who tallied the numbers. Awards were presented via Zoom on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

First place winner was the Citizens State Bank team of Issac Tipton, RL Pilcher, Richard Bergman and Taylor Burrow. Waste Connections team of Nathan Coleman, Bob Coleman, Oscar Chombo and Jordan Jones took second. First National Bank-Bosque County's team of Gilliam, Ryan Ludlow and Kalen Hanson came in third. All three teams donated their payout prizes, totaling $720, back to the Bosque County 4-H program.

Every year, Bosque County 4-H Youth Development Program works with hundreds of kids to grow, to learn, and to offer new experiences through multiple activities and events," Bosque County AgriLife Extention 4-H Program Assistant Marc Arnold stated in a sponsorship letter for the event. "We help the kids develop confidence and leadership skills for their futures through opportunities provided by 4-H."

The Lucky Clover tournament is the primary fundraiser for Bosque County 4-H.

"This event allows us to support our 4-H youth in leadership training camps and events, as well as provide scholarships to graduating seniors," Extention Agent Chris Coon stated in a release on the office's website. "We appreciate your support of our Bosque County 4-H Program! We would not be able to hold this event without the assistance of many sponsors and contributors."
