John Gardner of Clifton was among the 2,022 students named to Samford University’s Dean’s List for the fall 2022 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.

Greenes join American Angus Association

Adam and Courtney Greene of Iredell recently became new members of the American Angus Association. The announcement came from Mark McCully, CEO of the national breed organization headquartered in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Commissioners court okays reporting contact, courthouse maintenance

The Bosque County Commissioners Court approved a motion allowing the county judge to sign the renewal for the Affordable Care Act Reporting and Tracking Services (ARTS) during its meeting on Monday, January 30. According to a letter from the Texas Association of Counties Health and Employer Benefits Pool, the renewal will enable the county to produce forms required by the Internal Revenue Service for 2023.

Former Clifton police officer arrested on new charges

Local and county law enforcement arrested a former Clifton police officer on Thursday, February 9. Vincent Megason was taken into custody at his residence in Clifton without incident at around 7:45 p.m., according to a press release from the Clifton Police Department.

The Bosque County community weathered a winter storm that covered the Central Texas region in a sheet of ice last week. Local school districts, city halls, and businesses alike shut down for at least three and a half days in order to avoid the loss of life and property damage.
