Bosque County Emergency Management Coordinator Chris Anderson told Commissioners Court Monday he was approached by Health and Human Services last week to ask if there were any homebound, elderly or nursing home residents who had not received the COVID-19 vaccine. Anderson said he reached out to the nursing homes and other agencies excluding Senior Services to see if any residents who wanted the vaccine were unable to receive it.

“I have the ability to reach out to [HSSC] and they will send a nurse directly to someone’s address to administer the vaccine if they’re in need,” said Anderson. “I have had that discussion and as far as what I’m being told, anyone that wants it has gotten it.”

As of 2:05 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,363 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in Bosque County and an additional 308 cases were probable. Only 14 cases were active, and 1,624 individuals had fully recovered. The number of deaths remains at 33.

As of 8:59 a.m. Monday, 8,385 individuals had been tested for COVID-19 at Goodall-Witcher Healthcare. 5,956 tests came back negative while 964 were positive. They had one test pending at the time.

As of 4 p.m. Monday, the DSHS reported 6,279 Bosque County residents had received the first dose of the vaccine, and 5,248 individuals had been fully vaccinated.

34.4% of residents eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination in Bosque County have been fully vaccinated. Statewide, 39.13% of Texans 16 and older have been fully vaccinated.
