COVID-19 update: State reports zero new COVID-19 deaths

During Monday’s Bosque County Commissioners Court meeting, Bosque County Emergency Management Coordinator Chris Anderson said zero deaths from COVID-19 were reported across the state.

“This is the first time in a year and a half that that number was actually zero,” said Anderson.

As of 3:20 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS reported 1,369 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in Bosque County, up only six from last week, and an additional 309 cases were probable. Only 15 cases were active, and 1,630 individuals had fully recovered. The number of deaths remains at 33.

As of 8:20 a.m. Monday, 8,441 individuals had been tested for COVID-19 at Goodall-Witcher Healthcare. 5,997 tests came back negative while 969 were positive. No tests were pending at the time.

As of 3 p.m. Monday, the DSHS reported 6,417 Bosque County residents had received the first dose of the vaccine, and 5,379 individuals had been fully vaccinated.

35.33% of residents eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination in Bosque County have been fully vaccinated. Statewide, 39.16% of Texans 12 and older have been fully vaccinated.

GWH will offer a second dose Moderna clinic on Friday, May 21 for those who received their first does on or before April 23. The clinic is only offered to those who received their first dose through GWH.
