Bosque County commissioners transferred ownership of Lions Park in Meridian from the county to the city Monday after Mayor Ryan Nieuwenhuis asked the court last week to consider a quit claim deed.
The county acquired the park from the state in 1974 and according to Nieuwenhuis’ research, it was given over to the care of Meridian Lions Club through a handshake agreement in 1979.
