During Monday’s Bosque County Commissioners Court meeting, Bosque County Emergency Management Coordinator Chris Anderson said the county was seeing a benchmark low on new cases of COVID-19.

“For the last two weeks recovered cases have outpaced the new,” said Anderson.

At 1:55 p.m. Monday, the Texas DSHS website reported 1,334 confirmed and 300 probable cases of COVID-19 in Bosque County. 25 cases remain active while 1,576 individuals have recovered. There have been 33 deaths.

According to the DSHS website, everyone 16 years and older is now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Texas.

Goodall-Witcher will have a hold a vaccine clinic on Thursday, April 1. This clinic is for first doses only. Those interested can register through their website at gwhealthcare. org or call the COVID-19 hotline at 254-675-7941.

Johnson County has been designated as a hub for COVID-19 vaccinations and has listed Bosque County as a county they are supporting.

1,000 doses of the vaccine will be earmarked for the hub each week and will be given by appointment only.

The sign-up list opens at 9 a.m. every Monday morning and those interested in receiving the vaccine will need to register online at ww.cleburne.net/covid19vaccine or call 817-357-4456 for assistance. Once all doses have been accounted for, registration will close until the following Monday.

As of 4 p.m. Monday, the DSHS website reported a little over 34% of people in Bosque County had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 15% had been fully vaccinated.
