Council member encourages Meridian ISD to recognize past student successes
By a 2-1 vote, the Meridian City Council approved a resolution marking November 7 as “Band of Gold Day” every year in Meridian.
The date was chosen because that day, the band performed at the UIL State Marching Band Championship – the first ever MISD band to reach the state finals. The band placed 8th overall among Class 1A marching bands in Texas this year.
