The City of Meridian released a statement Monday morning saying Mayor Johnnie Hauerland passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, from complications from COVID-19.
A graveside service will be held for Mayor Hauerland on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy, Texas. Father Jonathan More will officiate.
