Band of Gold places 8th at state marching band contest

  • The City of Meridian approved designating November 7 as 'Band of Gold' Day in honor of the Meridian High School Marching Band's first-ever appearance at the UIL 1A State Marching Band Competition this year. Representing the band (back, from left) were Colby Cummings, Hayden Cummings, Noah Smith, Caleb Cummings, Maryn Roberson, and Dawson Cummings. The Band of Gold placed eighth in the Texas State UIL Conference 1A Marching Band contest on Wednesday, November 8, at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
