Everyone’s favorite resale shop is about ready to open back up for business. The Pot O’ Gold closed last March amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, but will open its doors for the first time in a year on Thursday, March 11 at 10 a.m.

Bosque Ag Extension to offer pesticide training

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Bosque County will be hosting a Private Applicators Pesticide training on Thursday, April 1, 2021 located at Meridian Civic Center, 309 W River St in Meridian. Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m. and the training will start at 8:30 a.m. and continue until noon.

Cal has lived, worked and volunteered in Clifton since childhood and stems from generations rooted here in Bosque County, so the community and its success are important. Oak Trees After Winter Weather

As everyone recovers from the winter storm you might have noticed the oak trees in our county are looking brown and dropping leaves. They too were impacted by the 70-degree temperature swings, extreme cold and moisture. The oaks in our county should recover from this in the coming months, but the trees probably won’t look their best this year. The trees took the full brunt of the storm, due to water inside of them that froze and then thawed. Add to this that some of our oaks had already started shedding their leaves for the new spring growth because we had a warmer December and January. All this said our oaks may look a little thinner this year, but they should recover.
