Billie Kay Hudson Hassell, 63, of Flower Mound, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, from a long battle of breast cancer.  A memorial service will be held next spring with her family at Carollton Cemetery in Lead Hill, Arkansas.

Billie was born on September 9, 1957, to Thelma and Dewie Hudson.  They moved from Clyde, Texas to Iredell in 1967.  Billie attended Iredell School from fourth grade until she graduated in 1976.  She went on to have a 37-year career in the airline industry with Continental/United Airlines, where she retired in the last few years.

Billie loved to read and enjoyed researching genealogy.  She had taken several genealogy trips the past few years.  She also loved her visits to Arkansas to see her sisters and spend time with them, catching up and playing games.  It was her dream to move there when she retired.  Billie was such a loving, caring mother, daughter, sister and friend.  She always put everyone else’s needs before her own.  She will be greatly missed.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Dewie Hudson; and a brother, Larry Hudson.

Billie is survived by her beloved son, Paul Hassell of Berkeley, California; five siblings - a brother, Douglas Hudson and wife Faye of Early, four sisters -  Doris Hicks and husband Jerry Hicks of Lead Hill, Arkansas, Thelma Mae Willoughby of Lead Hill, Arkansas, Mary Lou Flynn and husband Terry Flynn of Lead Hill, Arkansas, and Judy Thompson of Flower Mound; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
