Maudie Louise Abernathy

Maudie Louise Abernathy, age 91, of Clifton, passed away July 31, 2021.

 A memorial graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, August 26 at Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born in Turnersville on June 5, 1930, to Thomas and Annie (Shepard) Chaney.

Maudie was a waitress in Waco for many years. She loved plants and was a member of the Clifton Garden Club. Maudie enjoyed reading, gambling and spoiling her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willis Clyde Abernathy.

Maudie is survived by her children, Alton Abernathy of Weatherford, Eddy Abernathy of Clifton and Joe Abernathy of Riesel; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
