Second annual car show fills Clifton City Park

Cen-Tex Classics and Hot Rod Club held their second annual Bulldog Auto Detailing Classic Car and Hot Rod Show in Clifton City Park Saturday, June 18. With a park full of vendors, music, food and an on-site pin striping station, car enthusiasts battled the heat to see who would take home this year’s top prizes.

County back under burn ban

Commissioners voted Monday to enact a burn ban for the next 90 days in Bosque County. Bosque County Fire Marshal Kirk Turner said because of current and expected weather conditions, he, as well as all 12 fire chiefs in the county were in favor of a burn ban.

Anti-gun violence protests and more school safety measures

Anti-gun violence protests were held in multiple cities across the state over the weekend, while the state has imposed additional measures designed to strengthen school security. Texas State University’s Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) program will be provided to all Texas school districts.

Bosque County arrests and inmate transfers

-Peter Christian Savage, of Killeen, was arrested in Coryell County on June 2, 2022, for the possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 four grams or more but less than 200 grams. -Tabitha Lynn Whorton, of Clifton, was arrested by BCSO Shaw on June 3, 2022, for burglary of a building (x3); theft of property $2,500 or more but less than $30,000; and theft of a firearm (x3).
