Clifton ISD’s FCCLA chapter is making final preparations to send eight of its students to compete at the National Leadership Conference in San Diego July 1-2. Seven students made up three different groups that advanced to the national competition.

Because of lingering drought conditions, the City of Clifton has enacted voluntary water restrictions. Under these voluntary restrictions, odd number addresses can water Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.

Bosque County commissioners met in regular session on Monday, June 20, where they took action on weekly business. Not present at Monday’s meeting was Bosque County Judge Cindy Vanlandingham.

Anti-gun violence protests were held in multiple cities across the state over the weekend, while the state has imposed additional measures designed to strengthen school security. Texas State University’s Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) program will be provided to all Texas school districts.

-Peter Christian Savage, of Killeen, was arrested in Coryell County on June 2, 2022, for the possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 four grams or more but less than 200 grams. -Tabitha Lynn Whorton, of Clifton, was arrested by BCSO Shaw on June 3, 2022, for burglary of a building (x3); theft of property $2,500 or more but less than $30,000; and theft of a firearm (x3).

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays weekly 11 a.m. – A meal program for Bosque County residents 60 and over meets at the Methodist Church Family Life Center in Meridian.
